My Brilliant Career is a unique group learning program, designed to provide supportive, targeted assistance for employees at any age or any employment level, who:
- Have recently been, or are about to be affected by organisational and job changes
- Are unfocussed or dissatisfied in their current role
- Are looking for a way to refresh their attitude and approach to work
My Brilliant Career assists your employees develop supportive peer networks, while addressing and resolving their career related issues. Topic covered in the program include:
- Understanding the different ways people respond to change, or the prospect of change in their working lives
- Developing career resilience
- Understanding your work identity – what is important to you?
- Identifying abilities and talents
- Developing realistic career aspirations
- Positioning yourself to build your career – developing your own “brand”
My Brilliant Career consists of an introductory session (2 hours), followed by 4 half-day workshops – each one week apart.
The program usually results in one of three broad outcomes.
- Some participants re-connect with and renew their enthusiasm for and interest in their current job. To quote a participant: “Thanks ... I now realise I’m in exactly the right place for me.”
- Some participants develop a clearer understanding of what they want to achieve in the context of the organisation where they are currently working – and of how to make that happen for them. This is a common outcome for people in large organisations where there are a wide range of opportunities.
- Some participants come to a definite decision that it is time to prepare to move on to the next phase of their career. This is a positive decision for everyone – staying where you are when it’s not the right place for you provides no real benefit for either you or your employer.
