Interviews can be nerve-wracking experiences. And these days, selection processes can be far more complex that just a straightforward interview. Preparation is the key. The more you have researched what will happen during the selection process, and thought about what you will talk about and how you will behave, the better you will perform.

5 fresh tips for getting started
  1. Do your research on the organisation. The more you know about what they do, the better prepared you will be to talk with them.
  2. Plan to create a deliberate impression. Think about how you want the interviewer(s) to see you, and how you will make that happen.
  3. Look at the requirements for the job and identify some examples you can talk about to demonstrate your experience in each area.
  4. Make the interview an interaction, not an interrogation. Talk with the panel, check for clarification when you need, listen carefully to them and observe their reactions.
  5. Prepare some questions to ask at the end of the interview, so you can make a strong finish.
